Leena Malakar is a founder and artistic director of Kathik Cultural Society of India. Over these years Leena has given numerous performances at many prestigious dance festivals across India and abroad.

Awards & Distinctions: Sringar Mani award by Sur Samsad Mumbai in 2007.  Abhinav Kala samman award  from Bhopal in 2009.IIDF sanjukta Panigrahi Memorial Award for kathak, 2015.

Leena Malakar is also a founder and artistic director of Kathik Cultural Society of India. She conducts regular classes  for young & mature dancers at her dance school. The aspiration behind the formation of this society has been to cultivate the richness and spread the fragrance of this traditional classical dance form.

Recently, she has presented her conceptual dance production “BEEJ” on the 37^th foundation day celebration of IGNCA in the regional centre Varodara Gujrat.[2024]

She has performed in Sofia,Varna,Burgas,Veliko Tarnovo and Plovdiv a different cities of  Bulgaria  and  international folklore festival Romania  and  Conducted kathak  workshop at Gorj County Museum Alexander Ștefulescu Romania organized by INDIAN COUNCIL FOR CULTURAL RELATION 2023
